About Us

The Society of Biomedical Laboratory Scientists ( SBMLS), India is a Non -Government Organisation. SBMLS is a Voluntary organisation formed by the Biomedical Science People for the welfare of Biomedical Science People and all around development of the Biomedical and Allied Health Science. It is not an organisation of few individuals , but “ A Voices of Intellectuals People / Biomedical Science Professionals of India” and “ Endeavour for the betterment of the Society.” SBMLS (India) was established on 18 October, 1998 at Central Insecticide Laboratory , Faridabad by the Medical Technologist/Biomedical Scientist Dr. Shashi Dhar Mehta with his scientific friends who joined their hands together for the betterment of the Society and welfare of the Medical Laboratory Science. SBMLS started its work from that day it self by propagation of Medical Laboratory Science and awareness programme in the Society and to encourage Scientists/ Faculty Members /Medical Technologist/Research Scholars through conduct the scientific lecture/ Seminar / Symposium through Members. SBMLS (India) was registered on 13th February, 2009 under Societies Registration Act. XXI of 1860 (Govt. of India) in Delhi. It is a nation based Scientific Organisation and engaged in different Scientific activities in many states of India . In future , we are growing awareness and appreciation for the betterment of Allied Health Science. From small beginning , we hope that SBMLS (India) will continue to propagate for many generations, fostering research, educational and professional Scientific Knowledge for upgrade our Society. The society has been Publishing a scientific Journal entitled “SBMLS Journal of Biomedical Science with RNI & ISSN and also the society has published books on various titles with ISBN.

Aim and Objective

  • To work for proper recognition of Bio-Medical Laboratory Science in India.
  • To promote the Education, Training and Professional development for the Biomedical Laboratory Scientists 
  • To propagate the use of Biomedical Technology by encouraging basic and applied research for sustainable development of common people.
  • To arrange Scientific Seminar / Symposium / Conference named annual “BIOMEDCON” to proper interaction among Biomedical Laboratory Scientists and Research workers in different Institutions and Organisation within and outside the Country.
  • To celebrate “International Biomedical Laboratory Science Day.” every year on 15th April with scientific session as per theme of IFBLS.
  • To start Clinical Laboratories on Co-operative basis by the Members for service the suffering Humanity.
  • To work for aware and control of different dangerous Human diseases like T.B., Asthma, Hepatitis, polio, Cancer,AIDS, Dengue………………etc
  • To Aware and drive” Hand Wash Cleaning programme” at school/college.
  • To aware Population Control ( Family Planning) and stop female Feticide and save girl Child. 
  • To advocate peaceful and constructive application of Biomedical laboratory Science on worldwide.
  • To explore the physical and biological resources at national level and to develop suitable technological knowledge for their extraction and effective utilization of Medical Laboratory Science. To publish Books, Journals, Newsletters, Magazines and Proceedings and collaborate & co-operate with other Scientific Societies, Institutions and Academics in the country and abroad for research development & furtherance of Biomedical Laboratory Science.
